PROFILE
Sun Stone cottage named for the warmth emanating from its smooth, natural stone frontage, is nestled among fragrant white pines on a private point overlooking a beautiful island and the breathtaking expanse of one of Ontario’s premier lakes. This gorgeous, brand new designer cottage is an exquisite two story, four season country retreat, tucked away from the hustle and bustle and cares of the city. Given its three bedrooms + extra sleeping quarters and two bathrooms, the cottage will comfortably accommodate a family of 8.
Southern exposure grants all-day sun. French doors lead to a large deck offering a terrific view of the lake and an uninhabited island. A gradual decline to a 16′ x 10′ stationary lakeside deck with plenty of lounge furniture. Cottage comes with 2 kayaks, a canoe and paddleboat and the floating dock features a swim ladder. Why not paddle over to the sand beach at the island with the kids for a picnic?
Tongue and groove pine walls throughout, with birch and engineered hardwood floors, queen beds in all sleeping quarters. And all
oversized bedrooms — the two upstairs have high slanted ceilings. The cottage has a high efficiency fireplace, an outdoor fire pit (some wood provided) and a terrific BBQ. Everything you need for a stress free vacation. Extras include a washer and dryer, dishwasher and water cooler. Two charming side porches. Cottage is situated close to the water, close enough to hear the gentle lapping of waves. You won’t want to be indoors long , although it might be tempting to cozy up in the comfort of the Great Room with a good book. Sun Stone has lots of windows to let in the light, loon call and chipmunk chatter.
Prestigious Kennisis Lake boasts miles of sparkling, pristine, island-studded waters, great for fishing enthusiasts, swimming and exploring; just 3 hours NE of Toronto and minutes from the 65,000 acre Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve with its groomed trails and world-famous Wolf Observatory. We’re deep in the woods but only 25 minutes from shopping, golf courses and white water kayaking; and Kennisis Lake has a marina and small store for last minute supplies and all your watercraft needs.
