Heaney’s Hideaway

A lakefront cottage on Horseshoe Lake located in Arden, Ontario. It is a 3 bedroom bungalow, kitchen (fully equipped), living/dining room, sun porch and sunroom. The cottage is provided with lake water from spring to fall. There is an aluminum 12′ boat, but you can rent an outboard motor for the boat. There are no cottages located in back or either side of the cottage, in direct view of the cottage. For your viewing entertainment there is a satellite dish hooked up to the cottage and a stereo for your listening entertainment; a phone in the cottage for emergency use only. It’s a great location for fishing or a private retreat not suitable for swimming.
For the adventurers who love to go site seeing, you are within a short distance to Ottawa, Kingston, Perth, Cornwall and many Conservation Parks in the area of 1 to 2 hour distance. Or you can relax and just enjoy the peace and quiet, 7 cottages on our side of the lake and not in direct view from the deck. A lake with great fishing, but not for swimming (pickerel, trout, small mouth bass sun fish and channel catfish), the lake is small but there are channels that connect to other larger lakes, i.e. bull lake, clear lake etc.

Location: follow the #401 east of Belleville till you reach #41 Nappanee, north on #41 for approximately to 35 min. #7, east on #7 for approx. 15 min. till you see a sign Arden Road. Follow the road along; pass through the top end of town till you reach a dirt road. Follow the road for 15 to 20 min. Look for a radio tower and you should see a yellow bungalow farmhouse. A sign “Heaney’s” is located on a tree. The name is at the entrance to a private driveway of the farmhouse. Go down the road past another old farmhouse and barn till you reach a blue cottage on a hill.

Security Deposit of $350 separate from rent required 3 days prior to arrival. Part or all the security deposit will be returned when proof of pictures are sent to dadams1503@gmail.com with date and time stamp for verification the cottage is left in good manner and posted pictures.
Water: bring fresh water. If you require any more water throughout your stay, there is a well located at the Community Centre in Arden.
