You could Bring up canoe to the other side of the Dam where its Gull River ! It’s an absolutely breathtaking ride up the Gull River to Silver Lake and Shadow Lake. Canoe for miles and miles!

Lake /River Water:
The water is a shallow . 1 Ft deep near Shore and 4-6 feet deep at the end of the dock. The lake is large enough for any activity such as sailing, fishing, windsurfing, etc,. The water is weed free, crystal clear and gets comfortably warm for swimming by June.

ABOUT COBOCONK;
Balsam Lake is claimed to be the highest freshwater lake in the world from which one can sail to the ocean. Parks Canada recognized this feature by placing a historical landmark at the Coboconk docks.
Coboconk lies between the northern tip of Balsam Lake, and the southernmost point of the Gull River. A dam ( on the edge of our cottage property line) divides the two watersheds, as well as controlling the water levels of Balsam and Mitchell Lakes, the highest point on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Four Mile Lake is located nearby.
Coboconk on top of the world as beautiful Balsam Lake officially recognized as Canada’s Fresh Water Summit. Coboconk is a hub for cottagers and visitors to Balsam Lake Provincial Park and on almost any summer day, one might find people swimming at the bridge in the centre of the village. Local residents and cottagers call It “Coby”. Balsam Lake (Coboconk) is the Summit of the Trent Severn Waterway, and with a height of 256.3 meters above sea level it is HIGHEST POINT in North America from which you can circumnavigate the world. Coboconk is one of several places which lay claim to be the home of Canada’s smallest jail, a claim which it promoted on the welcoming sign on the south side of the village. Inside the jail were two cells, in addition to the wardens office. The sole constable of the jail, Joseph Wakelin, was appointed in 1899 and retired in 1922.
